One of the things that I\u2019ve seen consistently among the top 1% performers that I interview on the Sales Success Stories podcast is their high degree of self-awareness, but I don\u2019t think self-awareness comes solely from self. Feedback is a critical ingredient in understanding your strengths and weaknesses and you can get that feedback from so many places if you\u2019ll just ask for it. You can ask your manager, you can ask your peers, you can ask your friends and I really hope you\u2019ll ask those you\u2019ve sold to. Not just those who bought from you, but also talk to people you\u2019ve tried to sell to who didn&#8217;t buy for their feedback as well. The key is making people comfortable and letting them know that their input is really valuable in helping you improve. Now, I will often jokingly tell people that I\u2019m in sales and because of that it\u2019s nearly impossible to hurt my feelings. Again, you want to let them know that you\u2019re open to whatever thoughts they have to share. It helps, if you provide some specific guidance or questions as well. Are you looking for feedback on a particular part of your process? Ask specifically about that. The more people you ask the better. Think of it as a 360 review that you\u2019re running on yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Now let me give you a very specific example, because I would really appreciate your feedback about me and about this show. Good, bad, or ugly I\u2019m all about it because I want these tips and the value of this podcast for you to continue to improve. Specifically, I\u2019m interested in hearing which types of episodes you like the best and have gotten the most value from. Which ones don\u2019t you like? If you have suggestions on improving the structure or people you\u2019d like to hear from, I\u2019m open to all of it. I\u2019ve also tried to create a bunch of different channels for you to provide that feedback in whichever way you\u2019re most comfortable with. I literally just created the Sales Success hotline and will likely start including that at the top of the show notes for each episode, so you can literally just click the phone number on your phone and either call me or text me.
