Today is November 1st. The start of another new month as we get very close to bringing 2020 to a close.<\/p>\n<p>How are you doing right now? How\u2019s your mindset?<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s tip might be more for me than it is for you, but I hope it\u2019s helpful for you because I have no idea where you\u2019re at coming into these last two months of the year. You might be riding high and just looking to maintain momentum into a strong finish. Others of you might have struggled this year. Maybe a little, maybe a lot. My own situation is a little bit mixed. I still get to say that I\u2019m the #1 performer on the small team that I\u2019m a part of and I\u2019m just a little behind my full pre-covid number year to date after losing a little ground in October.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s actually that little bit of lost ground that I\u2019m looking to overcome. Personally, I\u2019ve been in a little bit of a slump lately. I haven\u2019t had my head fully in the game. There are a lot of areas where I\u2019ve been going through the motions for the last few weeks, and if I\u2019m really honest. I often struggle a bit through the holidays. So as I think about what I can do, and what I can control over the next two months the word that comes to mind is recommit.<\/p>\n<p>If you listened to either the interview I did with David Schwartz in <a href=\"http:\/\/top1.fm\/102\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">episode 102<\/a> of the <a href=\"http:\/\/top1.fm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sales Success Stories podcast<\/a> or heard his presentation on Mental Health at the Sales Success Summit, then you heard him talk about controlling the bullseye. There are so many things going on around you that you don\u2019t control. A lot of things come to mind as I think about what I have close to zero control over. There are some big ones this week, but if I\u2019ve learned anything about sales success over these last few years, it\u2019s that the most important thing that you do have control over is your mindset. So I\u2019m recommitting to working to manage my mindset. That\u2019s going to give me the best chance to finish 2020 strong and build some solid momentum into 2021.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m working on refreshing my morning routine and incorporating simple mindfulness and gratitude practice. I\u2019m going to enroll a few friends to help hold me accountable to doing this work, and this tip is actually part of the process. I wanted to be a bit more public about some of my own struggles, but more importantly about what I\u2019m proactively doing about it.<\/p>\n<p>With any luck, you\u2019ll be hearing from another friend or two about this topic and what they\u2019re doing to overcome depression and setbacks because it impacts all of us.
