Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today I\u2019m going to talk about something I\u2019m working on to improve my overall productivity and focus. Now, this is kind of an extreme example, but there are smaller less expensive ways that you can work to tweak your environment.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re a regular listener then you probably know that I bought a new house a few months ago and have been working to renovate it. This weekend I finally moved into my new home office and if you\u2019ll click over to DailySales.Tips\/1280<\/a> you\u2019ll find a link where you can see the complete transformation.<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s been challenging these last few months to try to work in a space where there wasn\u2019t meaningful separation from my family as they were home a lot over their summer break. With my being in plain sight, it was easier for them to interrupt me in the middle of my work day, and knowing that it was a temporary situation I didn\u2019t do a good enough job of working to define some better boundaries.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, that situation is now completely different and I have a purpose-built space to support productive work. You may be able to hear that there\u2019s still a bit of sound treatment needed that will go in later this week, but this is a life-changing move for me.<\/p>\n

The combination of this new space and my girls going back to school next week is going to make a huge difference in how much I\u2019m able to get done, and just in time with the Sales Success Summit coming up in just over two months.<\/p>\n

Again, I\u2019ll include a link to that along with the link to the office transformation pictures at DailySales.Tips\/1280<\/a>, but my point with this tip here is to consider your environment. The space that you work in has such an incredible impact on your productivity.<\/p>\n

What can you do to improve that environment?<\/p>\n

It could be as simple as bringing in a picture or something that will keep your why a bit more present. It could be something that improves your professional image, maybe some better lighting or some adjustments to your background that will help you stand out better on Zoom. Maybe it\u2019s just a bit of decluttering of your work surface to help you maintain better focus.<\/p>\n

There are lots of little things you can do to improve your environment. Give it some thought, and I hope you\u2019ll check out the images and listen to the deeper drive on Sales Success Stories.<\/p>\n
