Finding Sales Success on LinkedIn: 108 Tips from 36 LinkedIn Sales Stars Kindle Edition
I’ve personally been a huge fan of LinkedIn for over a decade, and recently saw the opportunity to double down on my involvement in the platform for a whole host of reasons.
That is why I’ve gone through the process of surveying over two dozen top sales leaders in order to learn how they are utilizing LinkedIn to drive the most engagement and experience the best results.
I asked each contributor for a basic tip that would be useful for somebody just getting started on building their LinkedIn profile, an advanced tip for those who have the basics nailed, and an expert tip – the one thing they're doing that's making the biggest difference to their own results. This is their “secret sauce.”
But how do we measure engagement to decipher who’s utilizing LinkedIn the right way to yield the best results?
That’s the question I asked myself as I began this process. What actually matters?
In my estimate, connections and followers are somewhat irrelevant. What is most relevant – and the best external indicator that you’re doing something right – is engagement. If others are drawn to your LinkedIn profile, liking your posts and commenting on your thoughts and opinions, you are inciting meaningful conversations among an engaged audience. That’s what matters most.
The question then becomes, how do we measure engagement?
In order to answer this essential question, I created my own LinkedIn algorithm – a model that I used to evaluate the engagement rate of the participants in this project – and one that you can use to measure your own levels of engagement and measure your progress over time.
Throughout these 108 Tips from 36 different LinkedIn Sales Stars, you’ll find posting strategies and other tactics that top sellers with strong followings have implemented to yield an engagement rate of at least 10%.
Additionally, you will learn:
• The top tips from over 30 of the best sales pros on LinkedIn who are driving the most meaningful engagement
• The fundamentals of the platform and what you need to do to position yourself for success
• Tips and tricks to improve your own LinkedIn profile.
• How to expand your knowledge and use of the LinkedIn platform in order to achieve your own professional goals
• Insights from advanced tips for LinkedIn veterans
• The secret sauce that are helping these winners win big!
Intrigued yet?
My commitment is to share sales success stories in any and all forms they may take.
If you like this description, there is a good chance you’ll benefit from the insights in this book.
If you’re looking to find, follow and learn from the best of the best, then this book is for you!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2023This has been a great book to read about the people who have leveraged LinkedIn to their success.
From posting content, to engaging the content of others, to optimizing your profile, reading the interviews in this book truly is encouraging to know that there are sales opportunities to win, by using LinkedIn effectively and strategically.
While the title of the book mentions finding sales success on LinkedIn, this book shouldn’t be seen as exclusively for those in the sales profession either, even though everyone is in sales, to one degree or another.
I have been on LinkedIn since September 2008, but only in the last 3 years have I learned that this platform has become more than a place to post your resume and search for a job.
LinkedIn has become and should be the marketing arm for users and if done right, you'll be viewed as someone who has developed the know, like and trust factor with others very well and the strong likelihood of new business being earned through LinkedIn is real. Very real.
LinkedIn can seem like it's Facebook, or Instagram, but there is a method to the madness that is in your feed, if you understand the purpose of the content being shared.
If you've felt frustrated that you haven't had much traction on LinkedIn, reading the stories of the individuals in this book should encourage you to utilize LinkedIn as effectively and as successfully as those in the book.
I am not aiming to become the next great LinkedIn influencer with a massive following. Those that have achieved that is definitely commendable.
However, I am striving to become influential to others with regard to the sales solution I am currently endeavoring to provide to new clients.
I highly recommend reading this book and even re-reading once a year, to remind you of what is capable that can be achieved on LinkedIn.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2020The number 1 should tell you everything you need to know about why you should read this book.
Only 1% of the 650 million users on LinkedIN post content weekly.
Let that sink in.
So as we sit here in 2020, this presents a massive opportunity for you to tell more people in the business world who you are.
And the best part it costs no money.
Maybe some time but this book will help you save time, create a strategy, tell your story, and give you massive results in your business.
I dare to say it could change the trajectory of your career.
It definitely did for Dale Dupree who had 750 followers 2 years ago and has now amassed over 30,000 and has built a sales training business with 99% of his leads coming from it.
Oh yea, he’s in this book.
Along with 36 other amazing people.
Here’s why I think you should read this and how it’s helped me.
Scott Ingram has blessed the sales world by compiling a group of sales folks that have really mastered the LinkedIN Sales Game.
Not to offer “sales hacks” but to offer actionable and tactical LinkedIN advice to really help you take advantage of the full benefits that the platform can offer.
You WILL absolutely learn from each of these Sales Stars but a couple of my quick takeaways
“Just do you, be you. The more genuine you are because you’re not “trying” to be genuine, the better.” - Amy Quick
Amy amassed $10M in net new pipeline just in Q1 2020, not by “connecting and pitching” but by genuinely showing people her personality. Being real without trying. And helping people solve problems in a human way. Everyone tries to be ultra “professional” but people want to know you first.
“Building a thriving personal brand is the greatest thing I’ve ever done for my own career” - Justin Welsh
Justin grew a startup from $0 to $60M in recurring revenue but in 8 months going all in on LI he turned into 20+ podcast appearances, 25 guest blogs, 4 major speaking gigs, 10 + webinars and 30k followers.
He gives a clear framework with how he did that in this book.
“Your goal is to create dialogue and conversation and get people thinking, along with leading by taking calculated risks” - Scott Leese
Scott Leese helped the author Scott Ingram re-evaluate his own LinkedIn sales strategy and in a few months helped him amass more than 6,000 new followers and meet all of these great sales people.
I know that my highlights in this book won’t just be absorbed. I will absolutely be putting these tips into action.
I highly recommend you reading and acting on them as well. This is the single greatest opportunity to salespeople if you really get it right.
No has all the answers on LinkedIn. You have to figure it out for yourself but damn if this book gives you a great GPS. I look forward to putting these tips into action and looking back a year from now on what this book taught me.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2020To be fair, this is really a promotional piece on LinkedIn with pieces written by LinkedIn members.
I liked it but I was trying to learn more about LinkedIn and this was a nice quick read with a lot of helpful hints.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2020Hello Scott, I picked up your E-book "Finding Success on LinkedIn", it is amazing, thank you so much for putting this together, it is so impactful. Earlier in the year I recognized the shift going on in LinkedIn but wasn't til recently taking action, your book has been absolutely helpful! Amazing to see all of the inspiring stories, and it sounds like a lot of them are pretty recent so I am confident that people who act on this now will be a part of the 2nd generation of influencers. LinkedIn needs people to interact and provide content, authentically and with consistency, and those people who do will be rewarded. You can't go wrong with this book and at this price.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2021It is pretty rare to find examples of what actually works on LinkedIn.
This book is a refreshing take on creating top performing content, straight from those who live it through their results. There is a big difference between just going through the motions on LinkedIn and succeeding.
I enjoyed the practical tips and trust Scott as one of the leading voices in sales. He is able to bring together an all-star team of influencers to provide insight.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2020This is all you need to succeed on LinkedIn. Just do what they say and you’ll have an effective LinkedIn social selling strategy. Having had my own success and confirming much of what i do in this compilation of tips, I totally recommend you start with this if you’re considering using LinkedIn well.
I liked the modularity of the content, which made it easy to read over time little by little.
I would say that succeeding on LinkedIn is only a part of selling well, but it’s a useful lead generation and drip marketing-type tool that is much more personal and powerful if effectively used!
