Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today’s tip comes from Susan Ibitz. Susan has 28 years of experience using behavior applied to sales, communication, negotiation, and everyday life. She’s got a great way of describing what she does so I’ll let her do that and then get into today’s tip:
Susan Ibitz: Hi, I’m Susan Ibitz. I’m a human behavior hackers. Some people hack computers, I hack humans. I’m working on sales, but not the training the classic sales. I use behavior in science to apply to selling. So today we want to talk about video. You know that LinkedIn has more than 500 million active users, 59% of the people, we like to see a video rather than read an article. 1 million videos are uploaded online every second. 90% of the clients research online before to buy. Not only the product they’re going to be researching you chew. 80% of the content online is video. Video share online about a product of company can increase the response from costumers in 75%. I was reading an article a couple of weeks ago and says that we never have so many realtor websites. And you know what? Still 90% of the people want to interact with a human when they need to buy a house. Why? Buying is an emotional process. If you buy in a house, if you buy an insurance for your family, if you buy a car, those are buyings who has to do with emotions related to that.
Now we talking about videos. Now how we do the videos in order to attract costumers instead to repel them. Point one, show your hands. Your hands as differ things the people is gonna pay attention. So when you are focusing your camera to do a video to pose, make sure the camera starts in the top of your head and end around your umbilical cord so your hands can be seen. Use your hands to emphasize number one, two, three use your fingers. When you’re talking about a big idea, use your hands to quantify this big idea. Another thing, be really careful what you have on the back. Between content and quality, people is still gonna be appreciating content. But when the content is good and the background is as good as the content people is going to stay longer.
One of the algorithms that YouTube have is they promote you if people stay longer in your videos. So if you are going gonna make a call of action, make sure to do it at the end of your video. Make sure what you have on the background. For most of us who work from home, that’s my case too, what we do is we are facing something then make us happy but we not content what we have on the background. So use the green screen, use a curtain, use something who is neutral so people can be concentrated on you. And be sure when you are recording your videos and you do it in your house, put up posts on the door saying “We are recording. Please be quiet. Don’t knocked on the door.”
I hope this research and behaviors to increase your visibility in videos as being helpful to you. My name is Susan Ibitz. I’m a human behavior hacker. Some people hack computers, I hack humans.
