James is a founder of various entrepreneurial ventures with his current company, focused on monitoring and control of complex systems with solutions in communications and health onboard ships. James is a former Canadian Navy engineering officer who has been working in the IT sector but loves to play hard on the water and in the snow. He lives in Canada but gets to travel the world. James Craig: Hey podcast listeners. Another Daily Sales Tip. Partners for Your Extended Sales Team. Regardless of the stage or type of company you’re in, partners can help to accelerate your sales efforts if managed properly, to become part of your extended sales team. Too often we think of partners is simply a means to an end where they have a customer base and you have a potential solution. But what if you can figure out where one plus one equals three or even ten? These partnerships can potentially drive your sales much more than your own sales team. If you can position your product or service as a strategic initiative for the partner. It certainly is more work initially as you might be actually selling to more than one level or group within the partner organization. But once you become a trusted partner, you now have an extended sales team that might reach into other geographical areas, business segments and list goes on. So don’t think direct is the only means to success. Partners take more work but can create exponentially more dividends from a sales results perspective.
