Meshell Baker: Hello and welcome to today’s Daily Sales Tips. One of the things I often tell my clients is learn to be uncomfortable. I actually tell them, master being uncomfortable, inconvenient, and uncertain. When you are able to be in that state and you’re still showing up in a gracious and confident manner is when you will discover that success is magnetically and abundantly attracted to you.
Why do I say this? Because as we know, everything you desire is outside the comfort zone, All change is constant and in sales things rarely go the way you planned. Yet and still people become frustrated and they want to talk about how it didn’t go their way. They want to overly apologize and I’m sorry and tell you the story about why it didn’t go their way. Instead of targeting and focusing their energies on taking whatever is left of that situation and innovating and creating something even better.
I actually believe that everything is an opportunity to create a better outcome. Problems generate possibility and obstacles generate opportunity. However, when you’re focused on the feelings and the desire of being comfortable versus being uncomfortable, of being secure versus being inconvenient, you will not see the opportunity. You will become a victim and you will start to think it’s unfair. Why didn’t it go my way? You’ll look for places to blame and you might even go into shame game of yourself. Whereas when you understand this is always an opportunity to communicate, to ask questions, to actually allow the prospect of your client to see how truly amazing you are, because you do not miss a beat and you stay the course and you give them the security and the certainty of knowing that even in the midst of the things falling apart or things not going as planned, that you are actually secure in your ability to deliver excellence.
That’s all they’re looking for is that you will deliver excellence, and when you make it your business of creating an avatar of your ideal client, the people you love to work with, they will understand, and they will be just excited to see what you deliver from whatever situation, and they trust you because you have established a relationship with them, not just a sales transaction.
So I go back to as I said, mastering your ability to be astute, to be magnanimous, to be incredible in the midst of being uncomfortable, being uncertain, and being inconvenient is everything. It will generate such an incredible influence and impact on your network. You will have an abundant overflow of opportunity.
Have a great day selling and remember, everything is dependent on how you respond in your situation.
