The Daily Sales Tips Podcast & Blog was created specifically for B2B sales professionals. If you’re a sales development rep, a chief revenue officer, or something in between, then this show is for you. You’ll find a single idea everyday, seven days a week, delivered in around 5 minutes.
You can listen to episode one where you can hear me describe what the show is all about in less than 5 minutes.
After about two and a half years of hosting the Sales Success Stories Podcast which launched in October of 2016, I realized that the two best things about that show, were also the two worst things about it:
-
I go deep! I’ve been called the Tim Ferriss of sales podcasters, and the typical Sales Success Stories interview is about 75 minutes long on average. That can be intimidating if you’re not already familiar with the show, and listening to an episode is a commitment that is probably going to require more than one session to get through it.
- You’ll only find interviews with active, quota carrying individual contributors who are either #1 or at least in the top 1% of performers in their respective sales organizations. While I love this constraint, it also keeps me from ever bringing anyone else on the show because they’ve been in a leadership role for more than year or even if they’ve written a great new sales book.
Since I’m not willing to change either of those elements, the only solution was to create a new show. That’s where the idea for Daily Sales Tips originated.
Here, we’re never going to go deep. Instead you’ll ideally get polished gold nuggets of dense value in a self contained daily tip. Of course there will often be opportunities to go deeper through the books, podcasts, webinars, blog posts and other content where many of these tips originated from.
Sometimes I’ll share tips of my own. Other times I’ll feature short clips or quotes from the Sales Success Stories Podcast, but most of the time you’ll hear ideas from a lot of new voices from across the B2B sales ecosystem. Sales reps, sales leaders, authors of sales books, thought leaders, and others who have something of value to share with the broader sales community.
One listener even told me that he can now focus the time he spends on LinkedIn learning about the industry and individuals he sells to, rather than the sometimes noisy sales thought leaders he used to follow. He knows that he’ll hear about the best of the best ideas from LinkedIn on this show.
Do you have your own incredible nugget of knowledge that you’d like to share with this community? Everyone is welcome to contribute. Take a look at the Submit a Sales Tip page to learn how.
Finally, you may be interested in learning a bit more about me. I am an active sales professional myself working for a professional services firm in a strategic account role where I manage about 15 Fortune 500 companies and carry a multi million dollar quota. I consider myself an “intentional individual contributor,” and love the work that I do. These podcasts, associated books and events are purely a passion project for me. I love sales, and am always trying to improve myself and my results. I can’t tell you how much I get from the mutually beneficial mentoring relationships I’ve developed through this work. Yes, it’s also profitable at this point as well, which helps.
You can learn a little more about me on the about page on the Sales Success Stories section of the website where you’ll also learn that I live in Austin, Texas. I’m happily married, have two daughters, way too many cats and a Chihuahua. You’ll find me on my Peloton most days of the week, and during football season follow the Longhorns and the Cowboys.
Thanks for being here. I hope you’ll join me on this adventure and subscribe to the podcast and join the listener list where I share a consolidated update across both shows about weekly. Sometimes a little more often when something especially interesting is going on, like when we’re launching a new book or getting close to selling out the Summit.
