Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Welcome to the start of a brand new week. Here’s Meshell Baker with a bit of Monday Motivation for you:
Meshell Baker: Hello and welcome to today’s Daily Sales Tip, Shift to being a GIFT. One of the best and worst things about sales is the constant change. And as a seller who is a top performer, you invite change. You know, it’s the opportunity to create favorable outcomes. And if you’re struggling with sales, it’s the opposite. You’re wishing things would slow down, you can get things in control, and if only, something will work in your favor. So shifting to being a GIFT actually helps you change your attitude, shifts your mindset, helps you to stay in more of a calm state, and actually helps you to cultivate a more creative mind where you can create and see solutions where others don’t.
Now how do we do this?
G is Generously great gratitude. So when you are generous with gratitude, where other people are looking at what they don’t have, what they didn’t get, what they need, what they wish they had. Your mind will actually help you to help them to see it, which makes it beneficial to all involved. So many people are sitting in a sense of lack, a person who is generously grateful is of abundance and it’s actually a better mindset and a better attitude and absolutely more fun to have around.
Which makes you indispensable when we go to the I. So how can you influence your indispensability, is that you again, you’re innovative, you’re imaginative, and that comes from being generous. When you have an attitude of gratitude, your mind will actually start to create on your behalf. And this is the consistency. This is just not one time. This is you consistently getting up, thinking about journaling, focusing on how you can be a GIFT to all involved, not just yourself, but to all involved. That means sellers, that means other sellers, that means buyers, that means prospects, your supervisors, superiors, all of those that you work with so that you are giving yourself in this manner. And so again, I, imaginative which you will cultivate with coming from generosity, because generosity is basically abundance and it’s a mind, body, and soul.
F is favorable future thinking. Most people are focused on the problem. They’re talking about the problem. They’re complaining about what they didn’t get when things don’t go as planned. And again, the constant in sales that is challenging is change. So you’re always faced with the unplanned, the unexpected, uncomfortable, and things of that nature, which I talk about repeatedly. So when you are favorably focused on your future, you think in terms of, yes, this has happened. How can I learn from this? How can I utilize this? How can I still make things work in my favor? Who do I know? What do I know? Your mind will start moving you towards creating the result that is favorable for all involved versus looking at the one problem. Remember there’s always only one problem. We can only focus on one thing at one time so there’s always only one problem. And your mind is infinite in its ability to create and solve for favor, when you are thinking that you’re generous create your imagination and now you’re focused on a favorable future.
And T – trust the ideas. Tenaciously trust what is coming out of you. So many times people have ideas and you abort them on thought because the first thing you go is what is somebody going to think about me? How am I going to do that? I don’t know anybody. I’m just me. You limit yourself and trusting that what is coming through you is meant for you to do and to deliver. It will help you to show up in the unique beautiful that you are and yes, I said the unique beautiful that you are. You are a GIFT to this world. There will never be another you. There is no one else like you. It immediately makes you unique and the only way for you to consistently demonstrate your uniqueness is to follow what you hear inside of you, to trust yourself, and the tenacity to trust yourself is bold because many people will focus on believing and trusting everything outside of them.
They look at what other people do. They want other people to tell them what to do. They want to follow what someone else successful has already done. And I promise you, everything you need to know already exists inside of yourself. And if you want to show up and become a GIFT which will make you indispensable in your workplace, to your clients, to those who know you best, you will follow this process of being generous in your gratitude, being imaginative with your ingenuity. Being focused on favorable future and to tenaciously trust what you hear the promptings inside of you. Have a wonderfully blessed day selling.
