Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. I thought I’d start of this year with the first part of a multi-part series. I’m not actually sure how many parts it will be as I have a half dozen ideas already and I’m sure that a few more will come along before I finish, but this is part 1 in a Sales Greatness series.
For over 6 years now I’ve been studying greatness in sales, and I’m starting to get a pretty good idea of what some of the core ingredients and commonalities are, and it all starts with a decision.
First, you have to decide that you want to be great in sales. You have to decide that you’re going to do what it takes, to put in the work and know that it’s not going to be easy. This isn’t a decision you make just once and you’re good. We all know that those wear off. This is a decision you have to make again and again. Every week, every month, every quarter. Maybe every day.
Are you going to be great today? Are you going to be great in April? Are you going to be great in Q3?
It’s a decision and a commitment that you make to yourself, because the greatest compete with themselves and their best. But first you have to decide that you are going to compete with yourself that you are going to be your best self.
Today is the beginning of something big, and so is tomorrow and the next day, and the next day. What decision are you going to make?
