Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today we continue our collaboration around Mental Health Awareness month with Allego and their EnableMinutes show with Scott Leese:
Scott Leese: I’ve been on record for a long time talking about how when I was 23 years old I got super sick and I’ve spent years in the hospital fighting for my life and dealing with all sorts of dark moments and demons and trying to get through that, and then having to overcome opioid addiction and then breaking into sales. And then, you know, you put yourself in this stressful environment where you’re up and down, you feel like a million bucks.
One day, and then the next month it’s April 1st, and you’re back at zero, and you’re like, oh my God. You know, you go through the wringer of feeling extreme joys, extreme lows, feeling hopeless, and then finding hope. You have to find ways to somehow be able to communicate and share all these things with some sort of support system. I think it’s really, really important. Whether that’s family, whether that’s friends, whether that’s colleagues, whether that’s a therapist, a mental health professional, or community of people. I don’t know what really matters. I just know that it matters that you’re able to talk about this stuff and not feel shame or judgment from it, but feel support.
