Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today again we’re celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month with our friends at Allego and their EnableMinutes. Here’s Gayle Charach with today’s tip:
Gayle Charach: In order for enablers to be able to serve other people, you’ve got to make sure to fill your cup up as well because we’re always giving and it’s rare that we ask for anything in return. A lot of people think when you’re feeling stressed, when you’re feeling exhausted, I’ll take a vacation for a couple of weeks. But guess what? You come back from vacation, nothing has changed. So what I’m learning is that we need to find some balance in our lives. My first layoff, I’ll never forget, I had no identity and I realized that my identity was all wrapped into my job. I was a mom and I was a wife and I was a daughter and I was so many other things, but we tend to be literally consumed with just what we do and not who we are. So for me, I started doing things that made me go internal and really pull out of myself. What is it that brings me joy that won’t bring me the level of stress that caused me to get to this situation?
