Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. With the work that Chris McNeill has been doing and now with this idea from Jack Wilson I’m thinking about making Fridays AI tip day, and this doesn’t work as well in audio as in does in writing, but you can think of them as Fr-AI-day tips. Here’s today’s tip:
Jack Wilson: What’s going on, Daily Sales Tips Community. Jack Wilson back with another tip. AI has been the hot topic for quite a while now, and if you haven’t started talking about how to use AI in your sales seat, you risk falling behind. I genuinely don’t believe that your job is going to be taken by AI, but I do believe that there’s going to emerge two classes of sellers, those that leverage it to their advantage and those that don’t.
So today, my tip is to help you to start leveraging that, because if you’re like me, I was hesitant to actually buy myself a subscription to ChatGPT because I thought I could just keep up with the times and hear about how other people are using it. But until I feel the real need to impact myself, I’m hesitant to actually trust the threshold. Well, I finally found a reason.
From time to time, our books of business change, or our target account lists change. And it’s not often that we can actually export a really clean list out of insert any sales system like your CRM or your engagement platform into Sales Navigator very cleanly. I know in one of my past roles, I spent almost an entire week trying to get my entire new target list of accounts into Sales Navigator in a way that was clean and usable.
Enter ChatGPT. So if you go right onto the Open AI website, sign up for the $20 per Month ChatGPT program. You don’t even need any plug ins. Simply copy and paste a list of all the names of your accounts. They could just be in a single column in Excel. And paste that list and prompt ChatGPT to say, Turn this list of accounts into a Boolean search format that I can use in LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
Now, ChatGPT will tell you that there’s character restrictions for search in Navigator and that you’ll need multiple groupings. And it’ll show you an example. Simply follow up by saying, Well, then give me those groupings. And ChatGPT will do just that. Then all you need to do is copy and paste from the window in ChatGPT into the search bar in Sales Navigator, select all to select all the accounts that pop up, save and add to list.
And now this took my process that used to take me hours and turned into about a 30 minute project to create a list of about 135 target accounts. I hope this was helpful and it saves you time and maybe even breaks you into the world of AI.
