Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today I’ve got a tip of my own and something I’ve applied to a couple of issues lately that’s been really helpful. Too often we have issues and challenges that we try to solve by ourselves, even if we’re not the only one dealing with those same challenges and issues.
A few weeks ago I noticed some things that were slowing down some of my sales cycles and it wasn’t just my issue. It was a team wide issue. So instead of individually beating our heads against the wall, we all came together to dissect the problems and brainstorm ways that we could potentially overcome them. It was one of the most productive conversations I’ve had within that team. In this case we did it without our leader.
Partially because he was on vacation, but I think more because it was more comfortable for everyone to be in a space where we could call out things that might be hard to share with the presence of our boss.
My basic point here is, you don’t have to go this alone. Sales can absolutely be a lonely profession, but it doesn’t have to be. If you’ve got something you’re dealing with, you’re probably not the only one.
So whether you gather some trusted colleagues to co-create some solutions or maybe you do it inside a trusted community like the Sales Success Society. Find your people and collaborate. Adding additional perspectives and ideas will help you get more clarity and see new solutions. It’ll also help you build deeper relationships that will make your day-to-day that much more enjoyable.
Thanks for listening!
