Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today I wanted to share one of the big themes that came out of this year’s Sales Success Summit that wrapped up here in Austin last week. The idea was sustainable success.
Many of us are what I call intentional individual contributors. We choose to be quota carriers and not pursue leadership roles on purpose, but to be a top performing AE can take a serious toll if you’re not careful. It can literally impact your body and your mind.
So there was a lot of conversation about how we can better balance the challenges of the role with our own physical and mental wellbeing. There was a lot of talk about sleep, about diet and nutrition.
For me, it was my first Sober Summit as I work on improving my own health. There will be lots more to share as we eventually make some of those presentations available, but think about your own situation right now. Assuming you’re currently finding success. If you kept going at your current pace for the next 3 years, 5 years, 10 maybe even 20 years, would you be able to keep it up?
The key is to find ways that you can do this sustainably. Part of what sustains me is the people I surround myself with. The Summit is basically my Christmas when I get to spend time with a ton of my favorite people.
What are the things that sustain you? How can you get more of them? Give it some though. You might also give some thought to grabbing your ticket to next year’s Sales Success Summit right now at the best possible price.
