Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today Jeff Bajorek is back. Here he is:
Jeff Bajorek: It’s tough out there. No question about it. There are a lot of buying cycles that have been extended. There are a lot of people who are afraid to make decisions because they don’t want to make the wrong decision in the face of so much uncertainty. It’s tough. And despite all your fundamentals, despite doing everything you can the right way, as often as you can, as quickly as you can, sometimes there are things or just only gonna move so quickly. And you have to remind yourself what you know to be true. Remind yourself that you have. I haven’t missed any steps. Remind yourself that you know what the next steps are and you’re making sure that you’re asking for them. Remind yourself that you’ve been down this road before. And sometimes the ball just doesn’t bounce the way you always do are always bounced the way you want it to. And that you’re still in this game if you can keep moving forward. No step is too small if it’s headed in the right direction, provided that you continue to keep taking steps.
So sometimes you just need a kick in the butt. Sometimes you just need a path on the back, but you need to remember that you’re capable of this. You need to remember that you were put in this position for a reason and you are capable and you have potential to deliver the results that you want to. But I’m going to help you. I’m going to give you a little exercise to do right now. And if you’re watching this on video, then you can do it with me. If you are listening to this, you can still do it with me, but I want you to take, if you’re right handed, I want you to take your right hand if your left hand and once to take your left hand, doesn’t matter which one I want you to raise your hand as high over your head as you can. And if you’re in your car right now, it’s okay. If you don’t know, you know, punch it through the ceiling or anything, but just put your hand over your head.
Now, what I want you to do is bend at the elbow and place that your, the palm of your hand on the bone, that kind of sticks out right in the back of your neck there. Okay. It’s gotta be right there. That’s the important part there.
Now, what I want you to do after that is I want you to just lifted about an inch and then set it back down and then lifted about an inch and then set it back down. Now, stay with me here, this is important. Lifted an inch, set it back down. Do that while you repeat this. Okay. So continue to lift it and put it back down, say, “Hey, it’s going to be okay. You’re doing a great job and you’re going to get through this.” Okay. You can say that again. You can say that two or three more times, and if you’re smiling now, then I I’m glad you got the joke, but look, you need a path on the back. Sometimes the only one that’s going to give it to you is you I’ll give you permission right now to do it. Cause I can’t reach through this podcast or through this video and do it for you. You’re doing a great job. You know what you need to do. You’re executing as well as you can. Keep doing it. Keep moving forward. You’re going to get through this. There is so much success to be had on the other side if you just keep going.
