Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today I’ve got something very different for you and I hope you love it as much as I do. Shannon Selis describes herself as a Jill-of-all-trades and a Master of Puns. She loves to find creative ways to do her job as a BDR at Mediafly, and as you’re about to find out. She’s got a dash of talent that she’s able to apply. Here she is:
Shannon Selis: You think all salespeople are savage and you’ve had so many cold calls, I guess it must be so.
But still, I cannot see, how the savage one is me.
How can you hate someone that you don’t know? You don’t know.
You think I’ll call just any lead I land on.
You think my chosen careers kind of lame,
but I know every account on my LinkedIn, every person, every title, every name.
You think all salespeople, aren’t people.
We’re not people who think and feel like you.
But if you walk the footsteps of a sales rep.
You’ll learn things, you never knew. You never knew.
Have you ever gotten a call from a strange number or wondered how this person got your cell?
We all get that information from zoom info.
So please do not tell me to go straight to hell.
Treat me like I am a person. Please don’t yell.
I research every person on my lead list.
I’ve qualified each company on earth.
I send out custom emails on the daily, yet you curse me and make me wonder what I’m worth.
I figured out the pain points for your persona.
I test out your objections on my friends and still, I have to consider Corona with a sales cycle in a year that never ends.
How much can I hear the word, “No”?
if you hang up now, you’ll kill my ego and you’ll never hear the voicemail that I’ll sing to you because you won’t give me a chance to speak.
Will you at least let me get through my pitch first.
I promise listening will not make you seem weak.
Getting rejected is a skill, but I’ll keep calling you until you can see I’m just a person in sales.
Scott Ingram: If you like this. Go follow Shannon on LinkedIn. She’s got more where this came from for you there, and we’ll have links to Shannon’s profile as well as the video version of her singing this song at DailySales.Tips/645
