Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today’s tip comes in the form of another clip from Millie Gulley. Millie was the star of this week’s Sales Success Stories podcast episode and was the top SDR at Sprinklr until she got promoted into an AE role. I should also give credit to Ryan Holiday who wrote the book “The Obstacle is the Way,” which I should really read one of these days because I absolutely believe that, but here’s Millie on the topic:
Millie Gulley: I think that’s just shaped who I am, right? And it’s made me this person, who’s like, I’ve just got to like take every obstacle head-on and just find my way to get through it because there is darker times as people that are going through worse than me and in a role like an SDR role where it is challenging, and there are obstacles like you really just have to have this end goal that you are going to get out of it. And you’re going to do bigger and better things. Kind of at your full sight, like knowing that it’s coming, you know?
Scott Ingram: Yeah. That’s incredible. I mean, just what you’ve taken from that whole process. It says a lot about you.
Millie Gulley: Yeah. I love supporting people that have gone through grief because like, you know, it’s an awful experience, but it certainly teaches you so much about how to live your life. So it’s definitely matured me. And I think a part of, I think, a big part of going through that is why I really care about like showing up to my best self. I think that’s the backstory of that, right? Like I know that I’ve only got like one shot at this life. So I want to be like my best self, from professional life to personal life. And I think that’s what installed this like caring about me and how I am as a person and how I show up for myself and other people around me has made me, like successful.
