Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. I’m publishing this tip on a Sunday and I notice an interesting phenomenon many weekends when I open LinkedIn to scroll through the feed a bit. Almost inevitably I’ll find a couple of messages coming from two sides. On one side you’ll have the hustle porn type message suggesting that it’s great to be working through the weekend and striving to get ahead, and on the other side, I’ll see a message more or less shaming those that aren’t taking a break and suggesting that we should all step away.
Here’s my thought. You, do you and don’t worry so much about the choices that other people are making. We all have different priorities and goals at different points in our life and heck different points in our week. Maybe, like David was talking about yesterday, you made a commitment to yourself and really need to crank through some work stuff or another professional project. Maybe you’ve committed to yourself that you’re going to turn off all of the electronic distractions and just be with your family. At the end of the day, it’s your choice. You get to make those decisions.
We all need to worry a little bit less about the decisions that other people are making. You never really know what’s driving them and their decision.
So whether you’re over-achieving a little bit and listening to this on Sunday. I hope you have a great, enjoyable, perhaps productive rest of your weekend. If you took a break and are coming to this later. Good for you. It’s all good. Thanks for listening, and you know what comes next: Come on back tomorrow for another great sales tip.
