Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Here’s Jeff Bajorek with this thought for you this week:
Jeff Bajorek: Have you ever caught yourself using the words “I can’t: or “That’ll never happen?” What have you thought about things a little bit differently? What if you approach them from a different mindset? What if instead of using those words you said, “I’m choosing not to” or “I don’t want to.” That reframes the entire conversation. There’s so many times that we want to just say, “Oh, that could never happen. That’s impossible.” Because we don’t want to hold ourselves accountable to the work that goes along with actually doing those things, but when you just own your situation, when you own that outcome or when you own the concept that you just really don’t want to do that, all of a sudden it’s freeing. It’s empowering. I heard from a lot of people and I still hear from a lot of people, “Oh, I could never be in sales.” Well, you could. Well, frankly, I don’t think there’s a superpower that I have that makes me effective at what I do. I think what I’ve done has been very clear about what I choose to do, how I choose to act, and how I choose to interact with people. And when I make better choices, when I make consistent choices through a repeatable process, really good things happen for my business. So is it really that you can’t or do you just not want to? That’s my challenge for you today.
