Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today the seriously multi-talented Shannon Selis is back with another song. Shannon is an SDR at Mediafly, she’s fairly new to tech sales and is happy to bring some laughs and knowing smiles to the community through these parodies of popular songs. Here she is with On the Phone:
Shannon Selis:
“And now I’m on the phone again
No meeting set, no excuse to go to
I do not want your attitude sir, I’m calling you because I’m supposed to.
The quarter-end is near.
But will I make my goal this year?
I sequence leads from my LinkedIn
When my boss talks during meetings.
I prospect them and find their titles
with the company, I’m seeking.
Script sounds good in my head
Why am I hung up on instead?
On the phone.
I wonder if they’ll answer me
All alone
I call and call all morning.
Without this, I would feel less anxiety.
But when I hear them answer, I forget my point entirely.
In this role
My hair is turning silver.
I want to throw
My phone into the river
In Salesforce
The tasks block out the sunlight
And all I see are leads and leads, Forever and forever
And I know
I’m gonna lose my mind
Cause I’m talking to myself, and not to them.
And although, I’m really calling blind
Still, they say
Cold callings the way?
I’m calling, but when the hours over
I’ll check Gong
To see if I sound better
With Orum
I find my call speed changes
It’s all in Outreach everywhere,
So leads are less like strangers
I’m calling, but every day I’m learning
In this role, the list is never-ending
My AEs, their contracts keeps on turning
In a world that’s full of bonuses that I may never know
I hate calling
But I’ll keep calling
I’m done calling.
So I’m hanging up the phone.”
