Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today’s tip comes from Chris McNeill. Chris helps clients solve complex communication needs as a Director of Sales with Infinite Convergence Solutions. Here he is:
Chris McNeill: Only do the things that you’ll get fired for not doing. I mean, don’t actually do this. In sales, there are a million ways to lose a deal and 10 million ways to get distracted. I find myself constantly reminding myself that my job is really quite simple. When I boil it down, I have two things to accomplish, create new pipeline and move opportunities towards close. I try to make sure that I’m working on those two objectives every single day, and I push everything else to a lower priority. Sure, there are a lot of necessary distractions that are important, like listening to great sales content over at Top1.fm that will level up my selling ability. But those things fill my calendar after I’ve allocated time for working on my core objectives, generating pipeline, and closing deals. I believe if you work on these two things every single day, you’ll be successful.
Scott Ingram: Chris is always looking to expand his network of sales professionals. You can connect with him on LinkedIn, and of course, we’ve got that link for you at DailySales.Tips/1007
