Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. It’s Friday and today we get to hear from Jack Wilson on vacation. Here he is:
Jack Wilson: What’s going on Daily Sales Tips Community. It’s Jack Wilson back with another tip, this time live from beautiful St. John. And it’s actually my experiences here that have prompted me giving this tip. We’re expecting our second child in a little over a month, so you can imagine the stresses of actually having a vacation. Also, traveling with a toddler that we already have, makes this a kind of difficult and stressful trip. And to be honest, before we headed out, I couldn’t help but think, man, this is not the right time for this. But it makes me think of what a lot of people told me before I had my first child.
There’s never such a thing as the perfect time. And the same goes for taking a break or a vacation. We all work hard in sales, and no matter when we try to plan out a vacation, it’s never going to be the right time. We can always come up with a load of tasks that we need to do or opportunities that we want to close or inconvenient things that pop up that make it stressful for us to feel like we’re doing. But if we don’t take that time to recharge, to help us be present for colleagues and for our customers that we’re no good to ourselves. So my tip for you is there’s no such thing as the perfect time. Take the time to rest and recharge when you can.
