Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today I want to tell you about an acronym, my friend and colleague came up with. Shout out to Emily. She calls it PUFPH. The PG translation is Pick Up the Fricken Phone! And get this, she’s not even in sales!
Sometimes it’s just too easy to send an email or fire off a text or send a message on LinkedIn, but there are a lot of times that a quick conversation would be much much better. Why spend hours going back and forth asynchronously when you can get to the root of an issue and solve it immediately? Why risk having the tone of your text get misconstrued when you could be sure the person on the other end hears it the right way.
I don’t have a fixed rule when I’m texting, but if an exchange goes beyond a handful of back and forths or the question that gets asked is going to take more than a minute or so to respond… It’s probably time to PUFPH
We’re human, we’re meant to have conversations. Don’t forget about the most powerful tool you have, and it’s probably in your pocket or sitting right in front of you right now. Just remember PUFPH!
Now you may or may not have noticed that I haven’t shared one of my own tips in a while. I’ve been heads down on a project that will start to roll out in the next couple of weeks, and I’ve never been more excited about what this is going to mean for the Sales Success Community. The best thing you can do for yourself is make sure you’re on the listener list if you’re not already.
Go to DailySales.Tips and drop your name and email address in a form. That’s all it takes. It could make a massive difference for you because you’ll likely get a bit of a head start on those who just listen to the podcast, and if you hurry and do it in the next week or so. I’m basically going to give you $20.
So please do us both a favor and just do it right now, DailySales.Tips. Once you’ve done that, be sure to come back tomorrow for another great sales tip. Thanks for listening!
