Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. May is Mental Health Awareness month and all this month we’ll be collaborating with our friends at Allego and their EnableMinutes show to talk about Mental Health in Sales. Here’s Amy Looper, Founder of Mothers in Sales:
Amy Looper: Burnout is not a one-time event. I think the word is used very frequently right now. It’s thrown around many different arenas. But burnout truly is a series of chronic, stressful events that have just become part of your life so much that your nervous system is just in chronic flight or flight mode. And so your body starts to break down. Your mental capacity can break down. You can start to have a difficult time remembering things or lack of focus, concentration, or somebody you might just wake up going, Well, somebody’s got to change. I am so not happy doing this. Even though I was doing awesome things at work, I just do internally, I was really disconnected. So burnout can be a lot of different things for people. And the path through that is really getting back in touch with your authentic self, for sure.
