Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips Podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today’s tip needs a bit of setup. Actually, it’s not really the tip that needs the setup, but the backstory. Since the next Sales Success Summit isn’t happening until next October I’ve been hosting monthly zoom calls for the over 50 people who have already registered for the Summit. I do that so that we can start building relationships and helping each other out well in advance of the actual event. Something really incredible happened in that call yesterday and I was able to find a clip from my interview with Kyle Gutzler in Episode 14 of the Sales Success Stories podcast that really speaks to the power of this idea. What’s super ironic about this is that it was actually Kyle who we were able to help on that call yesterday. Here, give a listen:
Kyle Gutzler: You need to target the people that are successful, that are where you want to be. And do your best to make that something that you do on a regular basis. So, one of the things that I’ve done with a couple other people that I consider top performers at our company is we go out once per month. We go out and we have a brunch on a Friday. I think it’s the first Friday of every month, and we just talk about things and when you’re rubbing shoulders with people that are top performers it just starts to rub off on you. It keeps your game sharp. So, I would say the first thing you need to do when taking massive action is reach out to people that are really where you want to be.
Scott Ingram: Here’s my question for you today: Do you intentionally surround yourself with top performers and people that are in positions where you want to be? Join the conversation at DailySales.Tips/42 on that page you’ll find links to my full interview with Kyle Gutzler, his LinkedIn profile and to the Sales Success Summit.
