Today’s Tip 54 is a clip from Nora Edmonds interview in Sales Success Stories podcast.
“We are making HUGE strides by leveraging the book and the podcasts. One of my favorite episodes was the Nora Edmonds episode. She touches on SO MANY things that our team is working on, and I’ve referred many to that episode. They then end up subscribing and having their eyes opened much, much more.”

Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips Podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today’s tip comes in the form of another clip from the Sales Success Stories podcast. This is from my conversation with Nora Edmonds who is the top account executive at Hubspot in their small business division. This is just one of the many things she shared with me in Episode 58:
Nora Edmonds: My thing, you know, trying things out, failing real fast and then iterating on that. When I first started out at the end of every day, I would take 10 minutes and just reflect on what worked really well today and what can I change for tomorrow and I’d write it down and I’d have it on a sticky note on my computer so that when I came into the office the next day, I had that thing that I wanted to change and that’s a really great way to just continue to iterate, continue to get better. It’s actually something at the end of this year I’ve started to incorporate into my day again just because it just helps in terms of growing at a really fast rate.
Scott Ingram: What’s an example of something that you’ve worked on through that process?
Nora Edmonds: So, like one of the things is, you know, it’s so easy to have a really great call and then time is up and you’re just like, “okay, bye and we’ll chat soon”. So, one of the things that you know, I was noticing was like my opportunities weren’t moving forward. So, at the end of the day, I was like, okay, “what went really well today? Okay, awesome”. I was asking really good questions, like getting really good information from all of my Ops. I got things like a timeline, but I didn’t put the next step. So then just something simple as that, right on your computer the next day it’s like “next steps in a post-it” on the top of that computer. So, you’re like, okay, every single call that I have today, I am going to concretely put down next steps on the calendar so that I have them right. Instead of just walking away from a call and, and who knows when. The next time we’re going to talk to is.

In fact, this weekend I got a note from a Chief Sales Officer who said: “We are making HUGE strides by leveraging the book and the podcasts. One of my favorite episodes was the Nora Edmonds episode. She touches on SO MANY things that our team is working on, and I’ve referred many to that episode. They then end up subscribing and having their eyes opened much, much more.” That’s why we’re doing this. Thanks for listening and sharing these podcasts with your team.
I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
