Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today’s tip comes from Nick Cegelski. Nick is an Enterprise Account Executive at SurePoint in LA and co-host of the podcast: 30 Minutes to President’s Club. He’s also the star of episode 97 on the Sales Success Stories podcast. Here he is:
Nick Cegelski: You’ve got to eliminate white space from your calendar. What this means is when you look at your day and you see gaps in your time, you want to schedule or create calendar events for things like your cold calls, your meeting follow-up. When you’re going to take a lunch break. When you’re going to exercise. What you don’t want to do is make those decisions in the heat of battle. You want to do it when you’re fresh and you’re in a planning mode. Otherwise, you’re going to have emotion dictate what you do and don’t do. And we all know when it gets to be 4:15 in the afternoon and you haven’t made any cold calls, it can be really tough to muster up that energy when you’ve just made it through a full sales day. So plan your attack and then attack your plan.
