Scott Ingram: You’re listening to the Daily Sales Tips podcast and I’m your host, Scott Ingram. Today we are doing, I think, the first-ever live sales tip. I’m sitting with Jeff Bajorek where we’re at the welcome reception kind of informal thing that we do each year before the Sales Success Summit. And I’m putting Jeff completely on the spot and asking him, at a live event like this, when you’re coming together at a conference, how do you take advantage of that opportunity?
Jeff Bajorek: We’re back at live events. This is my second live event in about three weeks and there are more coming, right? This is what we do. We’re back in front of people. We’re shaking hands, we’re hugging, we’re connecting with people that we’ve only met online. And it’s so great to be back in person. But let’s not forget that we have work to do. Let’s not forget that we’re here to learn. And the worst thing that you can do is drink from a fire hose and still walk away thirsty.
So what I’m imploring you to do is go to these events. Please go to these events. Take all the notes in the world. And then on your flight home, maybe take some time to sit still and just collect your thoughts after the event, but prioritize. Pick a couple of things, just one or two things that you can put into play right away, and forget the rest of the list. It’s easy to be overwhelmed by so many things. It’s easy to be overwhelmed by so many things that you’ve learned. Just do one or two things. And if you can do those one or two things for a month, you can go back to your list. You can do one or two more things. You get better day by day, not in a day. And that’s my recommendation to you.
