Tim Barnaby: Hello Daily Sales Tip Community. Longtime listener, first-time contributor. Today’s daily sales tip is about decisions.
I was inspired by the priest at our Mass last evening, which was the last Mass of 2022, the first Mass of 2023. In it, the priest gave an anecdote at the end of the Mass, and it went like this, a little girl came home and gave her father a riddle. The riddle was, there are three frogs on the log, and one of the frogs decided to jump into the river. How many frogs are on the log?
The father said, well, clearly the answer is two. And the little girl said, no, no, listen carefully. There are three frogs on the log, and one decided to jump in. How many frogs are on the log? And the father thought for a moment and then said, well, if one of them jumped in, then they all must have jumped in. So there are zero frogs on the log. At that point, the priest gave the lesson, the one frog decided, but none of them took any action.
A while ago, Scott reached out to me and asked me to contribute to this community. And at that time, I did decide it was something I wanted to do, but I never took the action. So today, January 1, 2023, I came downstairs, opened up my studio, turned on the camera, and decided to take action and record this message for you.
As you reflect back on your 2022 sales year, you’ve likely by now already made decisions about what’s ahead for you in 2023. You’ve decided how you’re going to sell differently. You’ve decided that you’re going to go after that sales leadership role. You’ve made decisions about how you’re going to sell differently. It’s in the action that’s going to make the decision come to reality.
So today, after you get your final instructions from Scott on this podcast, I want you to take one action based on a decision that you have already made to make your sales better in 2023. And one action will lead to a new action, which will lead to another, which will start the momentum rolling to make that decision into a reality for you.
