Mark Magnacca: Most people think that the number one predator in the ocean is the Great White Shark. It turns out that’s actually not true. The actual apex predator in the ocean is the killer whale. The thing that the orca whale can do that the great white shark doesn’t do is hunt as a team. They only hunt as a team. They work as a pod. They communicate as a pod and they are absolutely more effective than the great white shark. There are many salespeople who are like the great white shark. They’re by themselves. They’re swimming all the time. They’re scary in terms of their ability to deliver, but when it comes to sustaining that over time, the Wolfpack/Orca mindset of working as a team. It’s not just in nature. It’s true among human beings as well. There’s no one of us that can maintain it, day in and day out, year after year, and decade after decade. When you work as a team, you’re doing the part that you are uniquely qualified to do and you’re leveraging the unique talents of the team.
