Melinda Van Fleet: Recognizing and maximizing your energy so you can grow your business. Let me ask you this. Are you aware of your energy level? Think about it. One of my favorite things to write, talk and work on is energy. When I started as a sales rep, back in 2009, customers consistently told me I was, a quote, “Ray of Sunshine.” I didn’t pay much attention to the feedback. I said, “thank you” and rolled on. As I continued my sales journey, I realized so many sales reps were not a Ray of Sunshine. Many sales reps were bitter, depressed, complained a lot, and overall not happy. Hence why I received compliments from clients, which helped me stand out from other reps.
Over time the number of clients that wanted to work with me increased these clients often were considered difficult from the other reps and the other reps stopped trying to work with them. I learned it was really that the clients didn’t want to work with most reps. I hate to say it, but the other reps didn’t have great energy. Now I don’t take my energy level for granted, and I’ve learned much more about energy and how it relates to everything. I include a chapter on it in my book, Confidence Master for Couples- Roadmap to a More Intimate Relationship, and refer back to energy throughout the book. Energy is that important.
In addition to sales, my husband and I are also small business owners and our positive energy has been beneficial in building a successful business from scratch. I’ve been working on making sure my positive energy level is as consistent as possible. I have learned people are either aware of their energy or not. Yes, energy is a big topic with many aspects, but how can you start to maximize your energy so you can grow your business?
The biggest tip here is to recognize where you are and learn to shift if needed. Are you one of those people that are aware of your energy level? And if so, do you practice habits to make sure you’re in that flow as often as possible? Check into your feelings and find other thoughts, activities, or connect with people that put you in a positive energy flow, or are you learning about this for the first time? Or have maybe heard the concept before, but haven’t given it much thought. Start to make it a practice to recognize your energy level first and then move to make habits to shift your energy, if it’s low or negative.
Energy is a big nut to crack, but simple. When you get in the practice of understanding your energy and accepting the practice of shifting your energy in your daily life. Once you do, you will start to see positive change and be able to build confidence to maximize your success and potential. Here’s the positive energy and much success.
