Plan to arrive Sunday (10/13) and depart on Wednesday (10/16).
We’ll get together informally at The ABGB (Austin Beer Garden Brewing – 1305 W. Oltorf, Austin, TX) setup an informal, come and go as you please, type of gathering that Sunday evening.
Doors for the event itself will open around 8am Monday morning, and we’ll officially kick things off at 9am.
Your meals for ALL of day 1 are totally covered. We’ll feed you at the Alamo Drafthouse, and then you’ll board a bus that will take you down to the Salt Lick BBQ for dinner that evening.
Tuesday’s agenda will be similar though you’ll have a couple of hours on your own to grab dinner before we get back together for an after party starting around 7pm (that’s why you won’t want to leave until Wednesday).
As for hotels, it’s easiest to just book something near the venue (1120 S. Lamar, Austin, TX). Most of the name brand hotels (Hilton, Marriott, etc.) are downtown, just 2 – 2.5 miles away. For something with a little more of an Austin feel you might want to check out the South Congress Hotel or the Hotel Van Zandt. There are a ton of options on AirBNB and VRBO as well.
One of the best ways you can prepare for the Summit is by going back and listening to all of the interviews I’ve done with those who will be presenting. Here they are in order of appearance along with their talk titles:

That’s 20 episodes right there. Yikes.
In case you need more, this is truly a situation where we have an embarrassment of riches in terms of the knowledge and experience in the room. The following individuals will also be joining us at the Summit and there wasn’t even room in the agenda for them:
Abel Lomas (Episode 59)
Carson Heady (Episode 54)
Jacquelyn Nicholson (Episode 8)
James Christman (Episode 77) – Listen to this to learn how to maximize your Summit opportunity.
Kevin Walkup (Episode 31)
Phil Terrill (Episode 39)

Attire: We like to keep things pretty casual here in Austin. I’m still working with the Chamber of Commerce on the weather. So far it looks like lows in the upper 60’s and highs in the mid 80’s. Jeans are a solid go to move. You may want to bring a coat or a light sweatshirt just in case it gets a little chilly in the theater, but the goal here is comfort. You’ll be among friends!
