Welcome back to Part 2 of our interview with Dale Dupree. As a reminder, Dale is the top sales performer and founder at The Sales Rebellion, a professional training and coaching firm that seeks to change the game of sales. Also known as the legendary Copier Warrior, Dale got his start in sales in large part due to his father’s influence. Dale believes in walking a positive, moral and ethical path both in sales and in life. He is a proponent of building a sales territory through community and networking and that people are more than just a signature for your deal.
In this episode, Dale talks about the specific sales philosophy he subscribes to, one that was passed down to him from his father and centers on communicating with clients to ensure both parties’ needs align. Dale reflects on his own personal journey and the importance of leaving behind a legacy that is admirable and inspiring. He also speaks to his sales style and approach, which focuses primarily on basic human interactions. Dale doesn’t overcomplicate the sales process and his genius is reflected in that simplistic approach. Dale is a proponent of being proactive along his sales walk. If a sale or project doesn’t bring fulfillment to Dale or his career, it isn’t worth his time.
Dale speaks to the importance of mentorship and coaching. Dale’s original mentor and coach, his father, taught him the value of doing what’s right and leaving a lasting legacy. Dale expounds on this idea by talking about what motivates him as a salesperson. Dale chooses to look at the big picture of his career and that includes not dwelling too long on any one high or low. Finally, Dale warns those in sales to avoid the complacency mindset and to never settle. Instead, he advocates for consistency in relationships, taking the focus off yourself and reflecting on what type of legacy you’ll be leaving behind.
