David Weiss: Hey, everyone, this is David Weiss coming at you with another tip. So I challenge everyone listening to this. Do you actually know where you need to grow? Have you thought about, Hey, what are the competencies that make a successful seller in my business? And what do I actually need to work on to move the needle and get better? And what I mean by that is like, have you taken everything that you need to do to successfully sell, broke it down into its little pieces, defined what those pieces are from a competency level, and then actually said, here’s how I can improve and move the needle.
Most sellers that I work with, if I said, Hey, what are the top four to five things that you need to work on right now? They couldn’t answer it. Off the top of their head, they could not answer what those things would be. And they also don’t know comparatively to the broader marketplace even. Where do I rank across sellers in general?
So if you can figure this out on your own, please do. This is one of the things when we talk about getting one % better every day and incremental growth, being able to identify these things, being able to figure out where you stack around and get others, and being able to create a plan for yourself is really critical.
