Want more Sales Success? Listen to this short bonus episode (4:32) where Scott Ingram outlines his ideas for 2018 and asks for your help in deciding which one to prioritize next year through the short 3 minute survey available at top1.fm/2018
Transcript:
Thanks for listening to this short bonus episode. As I think about the future of this podcast and the sales success community by all measures the show has been successful beyond all my expectations when it launched late last October. Just in the last two months the show has been downloaded nearly twenty three thousand times which is pretty incredible for a niche show that is only 10 months old and only releases about two episodes a month. So first and foremost thank you for listening to the show and telling all of your friends in sales about what we’re doing here.
Now as I look ahead to 2018 my first priority is my own sales role. I’m not about to leave that sales job to become a full time podcaster. And it’s critically important that I continue to significantly over perform in that capacity, just like you. So I’ve decided that I can realistically only take on one of these project ideas that I want to run by you. It’s all about focus and I need your help in determining where to focus my limited time and energy. Hopefully I’ve provided enough value and earned the right to ask you for three minutes of your time to complete a really quick survey. The link to that survey is in the show notes and you can get there directly at top1sales.wpengine.com/2018.
Here are the things that I’m thinking about and I’ll present them in alphabetical order because I don’t want to introduce too much of my own bias. This is also the way they’re listed in the survey and the first and most important question is which ONE would you be most interested in? So let me tell you what the four options are and then I’ll provide just a bit more context about each. They are: a book, an in-person event, a virtual event or a series of webinars, or weekly podcast episodes.
So we’ll start with the book concept. I’ve actually published a book before using basically this model with a bunch of other co-authors which is essentially what this project would be about in collaboration with many of the other guests you’ve listened to on the show. And just like the inspiration for this podcast there are just so few books out there with insights directly from the actual individuals who are killing it in sales today.
Next is an in-person event. If I take this one on it will likely be a multi-day affair where again you’d have a chance to hear more in-depth insights from the top sellers that have been on the show and have ample time to connect with them and other like minded professionals to learn from each other and build a really powerful network. I also refuse to host a boring event in a hotel conference room so this project would be all about providing a unique and memorable experience.
Next is the virtual event idea. This could be a large virtual summit that takes place over the course of a day or two or a series of webinars. Like most of these ideas this would be focused on deeper dives into specific areas of interest or expertise and an opportunity to interact and ask questions.
And last would be weekly episodes so this one is pretty self-explanatory same show you know today. But I’d just double the volume where you’d get to hear a new episode every week instead of every other week.
So that’s it. I implore you to take the three minutes to fill out the survey at top1sales.wpengine.com/2018, and let me know your personal preference. I’m also going to give away two copies each of Trong Nguyen’s book “Winning the Cloud,” and “No.1 Best Seller” by Lee Bartlett. I’ll choose those winners at random from all of those who respond by the end of September 2017.
So thank you again for listening to the show regularly and sharing it with your friends in sales. I’m looking forward to an even more amazing 2018 when I’ll be in a position to bring you even more value through one of these projects based on your feedback. Thanks again.
