Hear the Secrets of World Class Sales Professionals

Episode 89: Chance Favors the Prepared Mind with Michele Trankovich

March 17, 2020 By Scott Ingram

Take this further. Ask across 200+ interviews:

  • Michele started as the worst rep in her class and outlasted everyone. How?
  • She preps demos at night while others prep in the waiting room. Is that the gap?

Michele Trankovich is a Senior Sales Director and Team Lead at PatientPop, where she is the top revenue producer of all field sales reps and an incredibly consistent contributor. PatientPop is the only all-in-one practice growth solution. Their goal is to help healthcare providers to attract more patients, manage online reputation, modernize the patient experience, and automate their front offices. Michele is a high-performance marketing, sales and business development leader with expertise in marketing company products and services with a strong focus on implementing social media, internet strategy, and reputation management. She has a proven track record of business development, strategic partnerships, and building high-functioning teams. Michele prides herself on being a proactive sales leader who delivers measurable growth and proven results.

In this episode, Michele takes the audience through her sales journey and expands upon her ever-evolving role at PatientPop. Michele is a proponent of being proactive and striving to be better with each and every day. She is a believer in setting goals and tracking them to ensure she keeps herself honest with her progress. Michele identifies three keys that she attributes to her success, which include organization, preparation, and personal drive. Michele also places tremendous value on accountability, which is evident by the credo she lives her life by: ‘Failure is not an option.’ Michele is an extremely detail-oriented salesperson who prides herself on the ability to deliver professional and timely solutions to her clients.

Michele describes a typical day in the life, from dedicating three days a week to waking up early to work out to planning out her meetings and proactively achieving the goals of those meetings immediately after they conclude. Michele also tracks her every sales move via Salesforce and, towards the end of her day, plans for the day ahead. However, Michele also finds time to unwind by reading books, going to Bible study and catching up with her children. Finally, Michele issues an actionable challenge to the audience. She encourages them to set a reach goal, determines how to get there, and then work to achieve them. As Michele states multiple times throughout the episode, if you’re not moving forward, you’re moving backward

Tweetables:

  • “I can only control myself. I can only control what I do. I can’t control anything else.” (13:08)
  • “I know what works. So let’s duplicate that every single day. And, if I’m not making my goals, sure I could go down that path and start blaming, ‘Well, it’s that guy. It’s marketing. It’s this, that, and the other thing.’ I could go down that path, but where does that get me? Nowhere. I become the victim. And as long as I’m the victim, I’m never gonna be a winner.” (19:23)
  • “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” (24:23)
  • “You always have to be learning because, again, if you’re not moving forward you’re moving backward.” (48:13)
