Clip from Episode 17 featuring Tony Robbins’ Top Field Sales Rep – Eli Wilde:
I would tell people to do some of the work that I did before I was into sales. I’d taken acting classes. I’d really got really comfortable with people saying no. Putting my heart and sole into a script, that aren’t even my words and getting rejected time and time again. I think that helps you overcome rejection. It helps you overcome fear. It helps you overcome judgement. I took improv classes as well which teaches you to be in the moment and spontaneous. Sales, we all want to be professional, and we all want to put our products out there. Some products you can be a little more loose than others, but I think when you can be funny, and you can catch people off guard, and you can create relationships, and you understand. You can really feel that tangible emotion between two human beings when they connect, and recreate that. Mastering that. So I would say to people starting now that they should do something around performance as well if they’re going to be speaking in front of people.
