Clip: New to sales? Be ready to be resilient

June 5, 2018 By Scott Ingram

Clip from Episode 44: Dan Drozewski – Top Sales Recruiter at Sales Recruiting Firm Treeline:

I typically ask what advice you would give to somebody that’s just starting out in a sales career today. Be ready to be resilient. Be ready to get knocked down. I liken it to sports right. You know if you let’s talk baseball for a second if you strike out in the first inning and you get your next at bat you’re in the third or fourth inning if you’re if you’re thinking about that strike out or that no that you got in sales then you know you’re not going to get that. You’re not going to get that. Yes or the homerun. Right. You need to be resilient. That is the number one. I can attest to that because I didn’t I did not come from a sales background. I came from a banking background. And you know I learned really quick I learned very quickly that you’re going to hear a lot of nos. You’re going to have you know deals you know what the goal line and they go awry at the last minute for whatever reason. I learned that very quickly and it just all goes back to the to the discipline and just put your head down and keep plugging away.
